Let the quotations do the talking!

Here’s a commonly popular one

…… The chains of habit are generally too small to be felt until they are too strong to be broken. — Samuel Johnson

The essence of ‘bad habits’

…… Bad habits are like a comfortable bed, easy to get into, but hard to get out of. — Unknown Author

…… Bad habits are like chains that are too light to feel until they are too heavy to carry. — Warren Buffet

…… First we form habits, then they form us. Conquer your bad habits, or they’ll eventually conquer you. — Dr. Rob Gillbert

I think this sums it up perfectly!

…… Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny. — Author Unknown

So in other words, by thinking that its ok not to acknowledge/reply back/return call, it is perfectly ok (since it is not the 1st time you are doing so). Hello, this becomes a habit, yes a habit of taking it for granted. Mind you, your friend is NOT A SUCKER!!

OK, in that sense, me by keeping silent and not giving any constructive feedback (and trying to smooth over things instead and getting angry/frustrated) may have also played a part in ‘feeding’ the bad habit. (Another example I give is that by indulging in gossip at the same time, we are also indirectly feeding the habit of gossip, and typically gossip arising out of 3rd party comments always always lay the foundation for a major blow up!)

So sometimes, honesty is still the best policy!! And I mean honesty DIRECT to the party/parties involved!!
